I Can Read! giveaway....

I love Harper Collin's children books.
I especially like the "I Can Read" series that they have.

With five different levels, you can find exactly what you need for your child at each stage
in their reading adventures.

I decided to give away a 2-pk of "I Can Read" books for early readers.
These are the two I am giving away to one lucky reader.

Splat the Cat: Splat the Cat Sings Flat (I Can Read Book 1) and  Biscuit Meets the Class Pet (My First I Can Read)

These are two great books to help your child learn to read.
My son has a really nice selection of these I Can Read books,
and through the school book orders, I came across these at such a good price that
I couldn't pass them up.

Hunter Moon book review and giveaway...

Bawling cattle tore Shelby Flint from her bed. With lawyer fees to pay in her struggle to keep her ranch from the clutches of her greedy cousins, she couldn’t afford the loss of even one calf. When she sees a large wolf circling her cows, she aims and fires. While the wolf escapes, Shelby can’t seem to get away from her troubles when a marijuana grower sets up shop on her land, sabotaging her property and eventually coming after her. Adding to that, a handsome game warden is poking his nose into her business and working his way underneath her skin. Shelby will have to fight harder than she ever fought before to keep from losing heart and everything she ever loved.

My review:

Hunter Moon is a very quick and fast paced read. I couldn't put my reader down once I started this book.
Shelby is a very tough but also very likable character. She shows right away that she is no one to be messed with. When she meets Cash, there is an attraction there, but she holds back and tries not to act on it. The book doesn't overdo it with romance which is great. It's just enough to keep you smiling and wanting more.
Shelby discovers that someone has planted marijuana on her land. What will she do about this new dilemma? I don't want to give away the whole book, so you will need to read it and find out. When I first discovered that Cash isn't just Cash, but also Fang...that's when the story got really good. See what lengths Fang will go to in order to gain Shelby's approval and maybe more.

Buy it Kindle / Nook/ Smashwords

Pambra's Review and Giveaway

Connect: Facebook

I received a set of three Pambra's to try out and I love them. They insert under your bra so easily and they are so comfortable, you don't even realize you are wearing them. They stop you from sweating and even helped me in particular with the sometimes uncomfortable feeling of my underwire bras. I was originally worried that they might slip out or move around, but that wasn't the case. Pambra's stayed in place right where I put them until I took them back out when my day was through. With the upcoming change of seasons, and the hot weather due to arrive, these will be perfect for everyone.

I let my daughter try one out as well, and now she wants a set of her own.  Pambra's are perfect to buy for yourself or extra special to give as a gift to your friends or family members.

About Pambra's

* Effectively absorbs perspiration between and under breasts and extends the usage of the bra.
* Keeps skin drier to prevent chaffing and irritation.
* Prevents wetness from seeping onto brassieres and clothing.
* Thin, comfortable and inconspicuous when worn.

Pambra's has so generously offered one of my readers their own full size package of three bra liners in their choice of all white, all beige or all black.

The Best Mistake book review, author interview, and giveaway....

The Best Mistake
   The Best Mistake
    by Linda Kage
   available March 14, 2012

Deri "The Mistake" Crandall wants nothing more than the love and acceptance from a family. After her mother dies, she finally discovers who her father is—except he and his family aren't exactly everything she's dreamed of. Not about to let a little thing like that bother her, she strives her hardest to fit in. Though honest to a fault, she even lies to gain their affection. But who could have predicted the one man with whom she immediately clicks is the very millionaire her grandfather orders her to betray?

Cole Harrety’s life is all about work and ignoring play, until a petite, curvy bundle of quirky woman literally tumbles into his lap. From the moment he loses a staring contest with her, he knows Deri is exactly what's been missing from his mundane life and no other woman will ever compete with her.

With a web of deception already woven, can their new bond survive a shattered trust?

My review:

Great contemporary romance book!! I read it in one sitting. I was so interested in finding out what would happen between Deri and Cole that I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Linda does an excellent job of getting her readers caught up in an abundance of emotions. At certain points I was laughing, angry, and even saddened by the story line. I couldn't wait to see what the two of them would do next. If you like romance, you won't want to miss The Big Mistake.

About the Author:

She lives in Kansas with her husband and two-year-old daughter.
She works in a library as her day  job.

Author Interview:

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Hmm, I'll let you know when I do!!  Okay, okay, truth is I knew I wanted to be an author in the first grade when my teacher praised some really cheesy poem I wrote. I completed my first full-length story when I was seventeen, but it sucked eggs, so we won't go into that. Then I was offered my first contract when I was twenty-eight, and I held my first book in my hands when I was thirty.  Of course, I'd just given birth, like, four days before that, so I was all drugged up from pain-killers and don't remember a whole lot of seeing my first book!  All of those moments have been big "I just might be a writer now" moments for me.

What books have most influenced your life?

I started out reading The Baby-sitters Club books, so they've been very influential to me.  They actually got me into reading.  When I was in high school, my sisters were talking about authors like Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Julie Garwood, and LaVyrle Spencer.  The first adult romance book I ever read was by Sandra Brown.  From that moment on, I was a confirmed romance junkie and could barely stand to read anything else.

What book or books are you reading now?

Oh, where to start! The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter, Irish Rising by Marie Rose Dufour, Between the Lines by Ivy Bateman, Sweet Enemy by Heather Snow, Stripped by Tori St. Claire, Archangel's Blade by Nalini Sighn, and many many more!

What are your current projects?

I'm all excited about Farm Boys Have All the Fun.  It's a full-length contemporary romance story that's actually a prequel to The Trouble with Tomboys (which came out in 2010). I wrote 'the end' in mid-February and it still seems to be nagging me. Usually, after I finish a story, all the voices in my head (okay, not literally--that's just a figure of speech!!) quiet down, pacified once I make it to The End and I can go work on something else.  But this one keeps dragging me back and re-reading to change little things here and there.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Endings are my biggest obstacle.  There are just so many ways you can go with a story once you get so far into it.  The challenge is to find the perfect conclusion for that tale.

And finally,

Do you have any advise for other readers?

If you really love it, never give up!  If you keep at it, keep working, you will improve and you will find some kind of success!

A big thanks to Linda Kage for the pdf. copy of The Best Mistake and to answering my interview
questions. Linda has also so graciously offered one of my readers a pdj. copy
of their very own to read over and over again. Trust me, once won't be enough!!!

Contest will end 3/15
