My son is going to by 11.....help....

It's just two short days away from my fourth born turning eleven!
Wow--how time flies, when you aren't having fun.
No seriously, I cannot even believe I just said that. I mean sure,
 I've had my fair share of ups and downs but who hasn't.
 I've had some really great times with these five kiddos of mine.
I wouldn't trade any of them for anything.
THE KIDS THAT IS!!
 Some of the bad times I could do with out :)

This year his birthday party will take place at the Best Western
 where there is a huge water slide :)
Our suite includes a king size bed, three twins beds, one trundle bed,
and here is the real kicker...a whirlpool in the room
which I'm greatly looking forward to putting to good use!!
Yeah right...who am I am kidding???
Like I'll get a free moment with a bunch of eleven year olds and my five year old,
 who of course I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT even think about
 leaving at his big sister's for the night
 (Cuz he'd NEVER EVER forgive me all the way to the sky and back!!!!)
 and truthfully I don't know if I could handle one more kid
 DISSING ME RIGHT NOW!!!

As long as I don't wake up wish my face painted or worse!!!!

Needless to say, I'm running behind on the ordering the cake and all that good stuff.
But no worries. I'll put in a quick order for a couple of
 big unfrosted cakes at the local bakery in
the morning and do some cutting, frosting and decorating myself.
I need to try and shape it to make it look like a skateboard. Any ideas??

Wish me luck :)

Trust me,
I need it....

'Lift' by Kelly Corrigan...my review....

As most of you know I absolutely love reading, and lately I have been having a really hard time focusing on the words in the books. But with my promise of returning to blogging, I also promised to returned to my biggest love  (other than my children) and that is READING!! So yesterday at the library I picked up a copy of "Lift" and told myself I was absolutely going to make myself read it no matter what....only when I opened the cover and started to sift through the pages to get to the opening words did I realize that I'd obviously had some help from above when choosing this story as my first book to read as my come back to reading story. Enough of my babbling...

Here is my review....

Lift
by:
Kelly Corrigan

In Lift, Kelly writes an absolutely intense love letter to her two precious daughters, Claire and Georgia. Since Kelly has breast cancer, she wants to write this book, sort of as a book or memories for her daughters. I would say that the biggest thing she stresses throughout the book is that she makes sure that her daughters both know that the one thing she always wanted the most was kids!!! She always wanted them!!! This story isn't for someone who expects to keep dry eyes the whole time that's for sure!!

Kelly at one point talks about parenting and is so right when she says how we so easily get caught up checking our email or out cell phones while listening to our child's story about how their day went, or we tell them to just go watch a movie. Or perhaps we may just get a little bit too mad over some spilled milk, an un-flushed toilet, or a lost toy, etc...perhaps just yelling at the kids because they are arguing with each other. Maybe it isn't always that big of a deal as what we make out of it....I for one am guilty here!! And I am the first one to admit it. But I am going to try my hardest to work on it, because sometimes it's too late, too soon!!

Now obviously at just over 80 pages, I don't want to give the whole book away, but I do want to touch on just a couple of things. Kelly's cousin, Kathy sounds like such a  smart and wonderful person, just the type of character that anyone of us would just love to happen across someday. She says that "when the big stuff happens, we're always looking in the other direction." and "it takes ten years to learn your spouse." Now isn't that just the truth???

Hello everyone...

Hey there,

How's things??

So, I just wanted to quick update everyone...

The day after I let everyone know that Jakey was back.....

he ran again :(

I'm not going to keep on blogging about my missing son.

Hopefully this one will be the last one.

I don't want this blog
to become some huge depressing blog.

I still plan to be back up and running as usual by

whenever I said?? Next Friday???

Or is it suppose to be tomorrow??

Let's go with tomorrow!!

 Because I am getting really,

really sick of just sitting around doing absolutely

nothing!!

I've been told, I'm just staring off into space quite a bit!!

And I myself know that I'm doing a whole lot of crying!!!

So...why not get back to blogging sooner instead of later!!!

See you all tomorrow with a regular post :)

Luv to all.

My apologies and also I'm asking a favor.....

I know, I know....you probably thought I quit my blog, eh???

Well I didn't...I'm just having a REALLY incredibly BAD MONTH!!!

First off, my 14 year old, Jacob
ran away this past Saturday afternoon...
and as many of you know, I have GAD
(Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and even
if I didn't....I'd have been going crazy since
that day!! It's been more than 72 hours :(
I am asking that all of you would pray for him,
send up love and light,
good thoughts,
etc,
all of those things I would very much appreciate!!

~~~~~~~~~
Now..if any of you are still waiting on things that you have won,
let me know...I have tried to slowly get things in the mail
that I was behind on....(a big thanks for being so understanding and waiting!!)
Since I don't have Internet at the house right now...
It's very slow going, 30 minutes at a time
at the local library....especially when I have over 14,000
emails in my inbox (and growing) and that's not my junk mail :(
With that....I'm off to do some mose searching
for my son!!
Love to all!
