My review:
First, let me say that I genuinely loved this book. Cristiane Serruya does an excellent job of writing so that her words strike a nerve and appeal to the readers many different emotions. She very vividly describes the places that the characters are at during each stage of the book. As you are reading it, if you don't already feel/ imagine that you're in that same exact setting, you will at the very least certainly wish you really were there. She put a whole lot of research and creativity into creating the perfect characters for this book.
I would like to inform the potential reader that this book deals with domestic abuse situations and that it has a lot of sex scenes in it. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, I'm simply warning those of you who may not be comfortable with this type of thing.
Now, on to the book....
This book has three main characters, all which have dark pasts and problems of their own. It also has a lot of great secondary characters in it as well. This is part of what makes this book such an amazing read.
Sophia is a self-sufficient and independent widow and mother who decides to move to London to start over. She is the type who doesn't 'need' a man for anything such as financial support, etc; but if the right circumstances were there, perhaps she'd 'want' a man again.
Ethan is a billionaire bachelor who is looking for the perfect woman to love. Perfect to him meaning a woman who isn't 'easy.'
Alastair is a rich banker who wants only one-night stands so that he doesn't have to treat the woman very well. I should say that him not wanting to have to treat them very well is an understatement in my opinion.
This book starts to get really interesting when all of flights are cancelled due to the weather conditions and so Ethan offers Sophia a ride on his personal plane. As you read this book, you will see Sophia in two completely different types of dating/sexual relationships with both Ethan and Alastair. Both men are so completely different from each other, and it's exciting to watch as these relationships unfold. Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, a twist so crazy that you could have never imagined it is thrown your way. I loved this about this book.
I don't want to give to much away about what actually happens. Just know that the main characters' past hurts bring a lot of interesting issues to the table and you wont be able to wait to find out what is going to happen next.
In short, READ THIS BOOK!! You'll love it and you wont believe the ending....yes, it's a cliffhanger. But don't worry, the next installment in this series will be here soon.
My favorite quote from this book: "If one stops believing in dreams, life loses its meaning, loses its colors."
